Teaser trailers for trailers are pants. Poopy, soiled, horribly stinky pants. They’re the very epitome of terrible Hollywood marketing shenanigans. I hate them more than getting cold called by people with dodgy accents trying to sell me cellphone packages. THEY’RE THE WORST, is what I’m saying, and I wish whoever came up with the idea gets tossed into the sun.

And now that we’ve established that… HOLY CRAP DID YOU SEE THE NEW TEASER TRAILER FOR THE NEXT STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS TRAILER?!! Did you see who has a lightsaber?! Oh be still my geeky heart!

There has been an awakening… #StarWars #TheForceAwakens

Okay, so maybe that glorious Drew Struzan illustrated poster from last week already gave it away that John Boyega’s Stormtrooper Finn will actually be getting in on the (Jedi?!) lightsaber action, but having an illustration of somebody posing with a lightsaber and seeing footage of somebody about to get into a serious lightsaber battle with a badass Dark Side mofo like Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren are two totally different things entirely.

Oh and by the by, the teaser is for a new full trailer that will more than likely be unveiled as part of a big fancy event during which the Star Wars: The Force Awakens toy line will be revealed live around the world. All of which is just going to make the wait until the movie’s release on December 18 feel even longer.
