Ever wonder what kind of movie Guy Ritchie would make if instead of an English youth, he grew up as a hillbilly in the American south? No? Well, neither did I, but that’s clearly just because I didn’t consume enough recreational pharmaceuticals.

Clearly, though director Wayne Kramer (Running Scared, The Cooler) and writer Adam Minarovich have done all of the above, and the result is Pawn Star Chronicles, a movie as full of crazy as it is stars.

In this shop, these people may be pawning far more than they bargained for: Brendan Fraser (THE MUMMY), Elijah Wood (THE LORD OF THE RINGS), Vincent D’Onofrio (MEN IN BLACK), Academy Award® nominee Matt Dillon (CRASH), Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead), Thomas Jane (“Hung”), Lukas Haas (INCEPTION), and Paul Walker (THE FAST & THE FURIOUS), star in 3 twisted tales all connected by items from a Southern small-town pawn shop. A man searching for his kidnapped wife, a couple of white-supremacist meth heads, and a sad-sack Elvis impersonator, plus more desperate characters come to life in the action-packed and hilarious story written by Adam Minarovich and from the director of THE COOLER and RUNNING SCARED, Wayne Kramer.

In case you were wondering, no, I have no idea what the hell is going on in that trailer either, but damn it looks like it could be fun. Or the very opposite of fun. You know, either/or.

What I do know though, is that the last team-up between Paul Walker and director Wayne Kramer resulted in the criminally underrated Running Scared, and based on that pedigree as well as this completely insane cast, I’ll definitely give this one a watch.

Pawn Shop Chronicles will be clowing around on limited theatre release and VOD on July 12, 2013.
