Johnny Deep is no stranger to strange, having appeared in some of the weirdest movies around. This time around though instead of white face paint he dons a moustache because, well, moustache. Depp is leading a cast of rather famous names in Mortdecai, a spy-like thriller that reminds me of Johnny English, only with less English and more American.
Directed by David Koepp (Premium Rush) Mortdecai piles on the slapstick funnies with stars Ewan McGregor, Gwyneth Paltrow, Aubrey Plaza, Jeff Goldblum, Olivia Munn, Oliver Platt and Paul Bettany in what reminds me of an Oceans 11 group hug get together. To be honest, after cringing my way through the trailer, I don’t hold out much hope; just far too many clichéd funny moments for my taste.
Have a look and tell me what you think.
Mortdecai is set to split your sides January 23 2014.

I’d watch it for Paul Bettany…I don’t think it’s going to be the star of the Film Festivals, but for some relaxed, Friday night, after a week of thinking viewing it might be worth it.

I miss the 90s. That’s when last Johnny Depp would act as a real person.
