Damn teenagers. Back in my day, we were terrified of things such as not passing high school, failing to get a job or not investing wisely in hedge funds that couldn’t possibly come back to bite us in the ass. But the kids of today? They aren’t scared of such things. Thanks to denial, they believe themselves to be immortal. But there is one way to scare the youths next door. And that’s with social media. Prepare, for quite likely the very first social media horror movie.
Ushering in a new era of horror, Universal Pictures’ UNFRIENDED unfolds over a teenager’s computer screen as she and her friends are stalked by an unseen figure who seeks vengeance for a shaming video that led a vicious bully to kill herself a year earlier.
Damn, that actually looks pretty scary. Especially the moment when that one chap plays “Will it blend?” with his hand. Unfriended stars Shelley Hennig, Moses Jacob Storm, Renee Olstead, Will Peltz, Jacob Wysocki, Courtney Halverson and Heather Sossaman. It’ll be accepting friend requests on April 17.
