TRANSFORMERS 4 heads back to Detroit City, new details revealed

3 min read

Ever wondered what Transformers director Michael Bay gets for Christmas? Most likely a shiny new car. That gets blown up. By the US military. While an Aerosmith track plays in the background. The man really likes cars, is what I’m saying.

So much so, that he’s planning on shooting the fourth Transformers film in his favourite car porn burg, Detroit Rock City. Also, new film details have emerged!  EXPLOSIONS.

Transformers 4 will have Marky Mark Wahlberg running around as if he’s on a coke-high, alongside co-star Jack Reynor. Taking place after the events of the third film, which saw Cybertron invade some personal earth space (WE’VE GOT BOUNDARY ISSUES!), it looks like this time humans are the primary big bads. Tinkering with forces, we can’t understand, when will we ever learn? Transformers 4 features a script from Ehren Kruger, which Empire summarised as:

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.

Bay has gone on record to confirm that the fourth robots in disguise film won’t reboot the franchise, but will instead help to introduce a new cast and a new trilogy of rock ’em sock ’em bots battling it out. It’s due out next year June, while that other Bay film, the supplement-drinking Pain & Gain which also stars Wahlberg, is out in August this year.
