Watch the trailer for the upcoming 2K HD remaster of PREDATOR

2 min read

Let’s be honest, as patriotic as we may be, there are a number of reasons why living in another country could be better than living in South Africa. And now we have a new, really manly one to add to the list. Starting in France next month, a brand new 2K HD remaster of director John McTiernan’s 1987 sci-fi action classic Predator is getting released in select cinemas. And damn I want to see this.

For the two of you that don’t know Predator, it was a badass, over-the-top, cheesy one-liner fest starring the human embodiment of all those attributes, Arnold Schwarzenegger, as a special forces action hero who leads a team of equally muscly and sweaty beefy men on a hostage rescue mission in the jungles of Central America, only to find that they are being hunted by an invisible, highly advanced alien predator. It had big action moments, epic dialogue, and the most badass tree pruning the world has ever seen. It also spawned a sequel, but we don’t talk about that much.

What we will talk about is this kickass new trailer and really cool poster for the remaster which you can check out below.

Writer/director Shane Black, who actually worked on the script for the original movie and had a small role in it, is going to be creating a new sequel in 2018 called simply The Predator. He will have a hell of a legacy to live up to, because after watching that trailer, even 20 years later, I still want to watch that movie again. For like the 30th time.

The 2K HD remaster of Predator is releasing in France on August 17. We can hope and pray that it gets a further international release. And in case you were wondering, yes, it was a slow news day thanks to the folks over in Obamaland still celebrating their independence day.
