I’ll be honest, and admit that there were several parts of the first Muppets movie that had my skin crawling. Such as Walter and Gary being so sickeningly sweet, that I may have left the film with type 2 diabetes. Still, maniacal laugh and all that, and the movie did some decent business.
Quicker than you can recycle a joke about fisting a puppet, a sequel is on the way. And this time, the marketing campaign is spot-on once again thanks to this new musical trailer. Maniacal laugh!
Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.
Muppets: Most Wanted stars Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal, Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey. It’ll be going on a world tour on March 21.
