So way back on December 21, 1970 the biggest rock star on the planet, Elvis Presley, initiates a meeting with then President of The United States Of America, Richard Nixon. His motivation for arranging this meeting? Elvis wants Nixon to make him a Federal Agent At Large. No, really. Elvis seriously considers himself Agent material and Nixon is looking for a popular ally to win over the votes of Americas youth, so the pair have their meeting and an iconic photograph that is burned into popular US culture is immortalized forever.
That in a nutshell is what the premise behind 2016’s movie Elvis & Nixon – which sees Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire, Man of Steel) as the King of Rock ‘n Roll and Kevin Spacey (House of Cards, American Beauty) as ol’ Tricky Dick – is based on.
There hasn’t been a lot of buzz for Elvis & Nixon and admittedly this is the first that I’m hearing about this movie, but it boasts a talented cast and looks like a whole lot of fun. Check it out for yourself in this trailer below:
One thing I must add is that when thinking of actors to play the role of Elvis, Michael Shannon is the last person that I would think of. That being said, after watching this trailer I just don’t care, because this movie looks set to become a new favorite of mine.
Also starring in Elvis & Nixon is Colin Hanks, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Knoxville, Evan Peters, Tracy Letts, Sky Ferreira, Ashley Benson, Tate Donovan, Poppy Delevingne and Dylan Penn.
Elvis & Nixon releases in theaters 15 April 2016.

Damn, I don’t care what they do. Just seeing these two actors together will be interesting.
