Will Smith is here to connect in this first trailer for COLLATERAL BEAUTY

“When a successful New York advertising executive (Will Smith) experiences a deep personal tragedy and retreats from life entirely, his colleagues devise a drastic plan to force him to confront his grief in a surprising and profoundly human way.” Thus reads the synopsis for upcoming star-studded drama Collateral Beauty. Looking at that on its own, you would probably think this movie just another weepy schmaltz-fest. The type of movie you’ve seen/snoozed/tjanked your way through before.

But Collateral Beauty actually has a much more original concept that allows Oscar-winning director David Frankel (Dear Diary, The Devil Wears Prada) to get just a tad fantastical, as the personifications of Love, Time and Death all show up hang out with Smith. Besides for an intriguing concept, the also boast one hell of a cast, with Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, Michael Peña and Naomie Harris all assisting Smith in his latest dramatic effort.

And based on this first trailer for Collateral Beauty, it looks like all those efforts may just be worth it.

Collateral Beauty releases in the States on December 16, 2016.
