Correct me if I’m wrong (I usually am about this sort of thing, which we generally leave in Darryn’s hands), but I think the last time the burly blokes and ladies from the WWE toured South Africa was in 2013. A lot changes in the ranks in the WWE in that sort of time – which means that the WWE of 2018 will be a very different place to the WWE back then.

Yes, the very best in sports entertainment will be touring SA again next year, with shows in Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg. You’ll be able to get your fix of wrasslin LIVE on Wednesday, 18 April at the Grand Arena, GrandWest Cape Town. For those who live in Gauteng, there’ll be two shows: One at the Sun Arena at Times Square in Preotria on Friday April 20, and the concluding show at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg on Saturday, April 21.

The events will feature WWE Superstars Braun Strowman™, Seth Rollins™, Dean Ambrose™, Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns™, RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss™, Sasha Banks™, Asuka™, RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro™ and Sheamus™, and more.*

“Following the overwhelming demand from our fans in South Africa, we are excited to return to Cape Town and Johannesburg, and bring WWE LIVE to Pretoria for the first time,” said Stefan Kastenmüller, Senior Vice President & General Manager, WWE Africa, Europe & Emerging Markets in the press release. “WWE fans in South Africa can look forward to spectacular, non-stop, family-friendly entertainment featuring their favourite WWE Superstars.”

Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, December 13 at 9 am from both bigconcerts.co.za and computicket.com.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
