A lot of high stakes, competitive gaming took place this past weekend. We had our very own Darryn fighting for honour, respect, and the love of his fake wife by means of a bout with his nemesis, Dave, in a game of Mortal Kombat X. Coincidentally, at the very same venue, top South African Mortal Kombatants fought each other to determine who was the best of the best. Elsewhere, in Pretoria, at Jukes Esports Lounge, fists and brutal combos were shelved in favour of high powered weaponry and bombs – Top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams from around the country duked it out for a spot at ESWC in Montreal, Canada.
And the winner, as the headline has already told you, was none other than Bravado Gaming. They dominated the tournament to secure a spot in the final, where they went up against eNergy and managed to secure their trip to Canada with a 3-2 victory. If you’d like to see the games, you can find them over at the OrenaZA Twitch Channel.
Bravado will be heading to the event with the following roster (via HLTV):
- Dimitri “Detrony” Hadjipaschali
- Richard “deviaNt” Groves
- Dane “racno” Friedman
- Thulani “LighteRTZ” Sishi
- Leon “Flarez” Wong
Their travel and accommodation will be covered by SteelSeries, MSI and AlwaysOnWifi. They will go up against some of the best CS:GO teams in the world – including the likes of Fnatic, Na’Vi, Team EnVyUs, and Ninjas in Pyjamas, as well as other qualifying teams from other regions – to win their share of a $75 000 prize pool.
The event will take place next month, from July 9 to 12. We would like to wish them the best of luck! Regardless of what happens, the tournament will provide invaluable experience which they can use moving forward.

Hey, I’m already a mossel. The law of the internet clearly states that one can only be an Admiral with a clean grammatical record, like Hammersteyn said.

Well that was spelling not grammar. And spelled correctly in my pragtige taal!

Dit is pragtig. Verral as jy jou punt wil bewys gedurende ‘n rugby wedstryd of as jy met die munisipaliteit op die foon is

Veral as jy jou probleem verduidelik in rugby terminologie aan die munisipaliteit wanneer hulle ‘n fout begaan het

Yeah, being an Admiral you need to set a proper grammatical example. Me being a Sergeant I can get away with a few mistakes.

Plus your reputation isn’t intrinsically linked to your correct usage of grammar, punctuation and spelling.
