2015 wasn’t a bad year at all for games. Hell it was fantastic, with numerous of my boats being floated thanks to games like Splatoon, Batman: Arkham Knight, Ori & the Blind Forest and something else that I’ve forgotten that rhymes with a pitcher. But that’s in the past, and if I’ve learnt one thing since I started covering games, is that our hobby refuses to look back. Unless we’re talking bout remasters.
We’re going to have a massive selection of games thrown at our faces this year, according to the list that I stole from Wikipedia. Let’s run it down and brace our wallets for the digital onslaught of budget-busting pre-orders.
January
And so it begins! January has usually been emptier than my head, but the times are changing. Hell, the entire first quarter of the year has become a new release point for games that were originally meant for the fourth quarter of the previous year. You’re most likely intimately aware of this, judging by the fist-shaped hole in your wall every time you read a story from us about how certain games were being delayed for “polish”.
Anyway, January has some fine games to try out. GameCube classic Resident Evil Zero gets some spit and shine for new consoles, Darkest Dungeon hops on over to new platforms and Mario gets ready to jam some papers yo:
- Amplitude (PS4) – January 5
- Hardware: Rivals (PS4) – January 5
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – January 12
- The Banner Saga (PS4, Xbox One) – January 12

- Bombshell (PC) – January 29
- This War of Mine: The Little Ones (PS4, Xbox One) – January 29
- Rise of the Tomb Raider (PC) – January 28
February
January is essentially re-release month when compared to February however. You’ve got some big names being unleashed, from Street Fighter V, Far Cry Primal and a Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare sequel. The most important game on the list however, is the latest Naruto brawler. Of course. BELIEVE IT!
- Cobalt (PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360) – February 2
- Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – February 5
- XCOM 2 (PC) – February 5

- Street Fighter 5 (PC, PS4) – February 16
- Pillars of Eternity: The White March expansion – Part 2 (PC) – February 16
- Far Cry Primal (PS4, Xbox One) – February 23
- Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – February 23
- The Walking Dead: Michonne (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One) – February
March
Stop, drop and roll: March is also on fire. Prepare to be hit hard hey in a new UFC game, a third season of Killer Instinct o break some combos like a maniac in a McDonalds shop and Ubisoft’s serious Borderlands, The Division:
- Far Cry Primal (PC) – March 1

- Battleborn (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – May 3
- Mirror’s Edge Catalyst (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – May 24
June
There’s a reason why you don;’ see too many games releases in June. And that’s because E3 pretty much steals all of the thunder needed to hype these titles up. Still, some games will be launched, ready to gamble some E3 goodwill and hope that it translates into sales:
- No Man’s Sky (PC, PS4) – June
- ARK: Survival Evolved (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – official launch for the Early Access game on all platforms

There’s only one game on all these lists I KNOW I am going to get: Dark Souls 3. The rest, I’ll wait for the reviews to be favourable.

Step 1 : list all the games
Step 2 : ???
Step 3 : Play all the games because you can now afford them
Kromas untamed
January 6, 2016 at 15:15
Your logic is flawed and here is why.
If Afford=yes then
game time = work time -sleep time – social time = 0
else
game = not owned.

January 6, 2016 at 15:20
It is valid, I was thinking of how to afford. Need more friends with PS4s around me. That way we can avoid buying the same games and lend different ones to each other

January 6, 2016 at 15:21
Step 1: Buy PC
Step 2: Move in with friend who has massive Steam library
Step 3: Get him addicted to something that is not on steam …. like WoW.
Step 4:???
Step 5: Profit. 🙂

The Banner Saga 2 is almost out on pc now. They’re probably planning on getting that to the consoles too, hence why the first one is only going to them now.
