Get Battleborn for cheap in the latest Humble Bundle

The folks over at Humble Bundle have teamed up with 2K games for another stellar collection of games, priced at however much you want to pay for them.

As per usual, it’s a tiered affair, with the lowest, $1 tier netting you the pretty decent Darkness II. I honestly preferred the first one, but it’s a fun play nonetheless. You’ll also get the middling game with the excellent story Spec Ops: The Line – which is a game I very much recommend to anyone who wants to see the horror of warfare. Lastly, you’ll get Duke Nukem Forever which is worth about $1.

Beat the average price – currently sitting at $8.32 – and you’ll get some better games. First off, you’ll get the excellent Civilization V. Sports fans will be delighted to pick up the also fantastic NBA 2K16. For some older fare perfect for getting you in the mood for the impending Mafia 3, you’ll get the Mafia 2 Digital Deluxe Edition. Once again, I preferred the first game in the series, but it’s a god game nonetheless. You’ll also get some DLC sins for Battleborn and a 40% discount on XCOM 2.

If you don’t already own Battleborn, the $15 tier includes the game that launched just a few months ago at $60 so it’s worth picking up if Battleborn piqued your interest (but not enough to throw $60 at it). You’ll also get some in-game credits to spend on Battleborn guff. Of course you could just wait for its inevitable free-to-play transition next year.

Continuing the theme of games whose previous iterations I preferred, you’ll get Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. It’s fun and tremendously silly, but I thought Borderlands 2 was a much tighter experience. Still, not a bad bundle at all.

Once again, you’re able to split the proceeds any way you like between the bundle organisers, publisher 2K and a charity of your choice. 2K’s nominated Gamechanger, whose mission “is to positively impact the lives of children & families facing life-threatening illnesses through video games, compassion and innovation.”

All considered, a pretty decent bundle, and a great way to increase your backlog even more. Get it, here.

I was actually looking at this bundle earlier.

I think I need to slow down on game purchases though, I’m really addicted to 2 particular F2P games and Terraria which I’ve owned for years. New games aren’t seeing pretty much any play time, despite being fun.

I am in the same situation.

Decided to save the money instead of splurging, although I have pre-ordered BF1, which should occupy a considerable amount of my gaming time. That and Hearthstone is good enough for now as I have a serious backlog, which includes recent titles such as DOOM lol xD

lol if DOOM ran on my machine I’d be all over that, but that’s just me. I have several games that I want to play, have spent an hour or so in, and enjoyed, but are just sitting there waiting for me to move past Warframe, Path of Exile and Terraria. Aint happening any time soon though. 😀

That must be one of the most depressing things in the world for the creative team who put that game together. I genuinely feel for them.

I didn’t like the Battleborn BETA at all and I almost didn’t buy Overwatch but I’m very happy I did.

Listen I’m not saying the game was good – I’ve never played it – but if I had worked on Battleborn I’d have been crushed by the reception of the game.

I know you aren’t, it just astounds me how there are so many people excited for the game in the video and then a few months later they’re not playing it

To be honest, I think there are a couple of factors. One – the current instant gratification mindset of gamers in general ~ “It’s now or never”. Second, the game released the same time as Overwatch. Third, people compared it too much to Overwatch, because of the heroes mechanic – it’s actually just an FPS MOBA, unlike Overwatch which is a Hero-based Arena Shooter.

I’m sure there are more, but those 3 alone killed Battleborn. I also heard it wasn’t that fun. But that’s not really up for debate – that’s just opinion and experience based.

It really wasn’t fun. The Beta anyways

100% correct. In your experience, and opinion. But others may have enjoyed it. That’s just how opinion and experience work. 😀

What I’m saying is that I’m sure there are many who didn’t even buy the game, because “Overwatch is better” or “This is just trying to copy Overwatch” or “It’s just a fad” or “My money this month is going to Overwatch”. And I’m also sure that some of those people may have enjoyed the game. And I’m also sure if people thought of it like Smite with guns, it would’ve attracted the interest of the type of people who would’ve actually enjoyed it. People who weren’t looking for an arena shooter, but were looking for an FPS MOBA.

Also Overwatch was so expensive people couldn’t afford Battleborn as well

I don’t know why I found that so funny. I did. But I don’t know why. XD
