Assassins Creed Unity already had some gameplay shown over in the Microsoft conference, revealing that it will have 4 player co-op. Ubisoft flesh out the game a little more though with a beautiful new trailer.
The game is set during the French Revolution, and it does really look incredibly epic. Our 4 assassins look like they are going about making life for those in power as miserable as possible. The game takes place during he French Revolution, a really brutal period in human history. It certainly makes for an interesting setting.
The cinematic trailer is then followed by another gameplay trailer where our player is tasked with assassinating somebody, big surprise there! Our assassin starts off on top of a really tall building, keeping an eye on the unrest down in a courtyard below. He scales down the building incredibly fast, reaching the ground in no time at all.
The demonstration illustrates just how many side quests are available to the player, with a lady being pick pocketed and the thief running off into the distance, giving the player the option of giving chase. The combat itself looks really good, with our assassin making quick work of anybody who gets in his way. The crowds in this game look absolutely incredible, with hundreds of civilians filling the screen at any given point. I get really annoyed when I play a game and it looks like character models are copy pasted, but it really does look like many people in the crowd have their own unique look. The video ends with our assassin scaling a building and raining down a swift death to his target below.
Assassins Creed really has become a Ubisoft staple. This particular entry looks set to take the series even further.

You know, I’m glad they’re overhauling the system. I might just want to play Unity now….
