Remember about 2 weeks ago EA diced to pull the iOS title Battlefield 3: Aftershock game from the app store due to a flood of negative complaints and glitches in the game?

Well it’s obituary has finally been confirmed with EA announcing that the game will not be fixed and will rather be taken out back and put out of it’s misery. Apparently the game just isn’t worth fixing and is to broken to contemplate putting back onto the store.

The official response is

In the interest of bringing consumers only the highest level of quality mobile entertainment, EA Mobile has decided to suspend development and support of Battlefield 3: Aftershock and refocus its resources on other titles. The Aftershock servers will be live through March 31st, 2012, and customers who have already downloaded the game can continue to play until then.

All in all it’s a pretty embarrassing situation for EA to have released a game so bad that it had to be pulled and couldn’t even be patched.

If EA Mobile were so dedicated to the highest level of quality then possibly they should hire a tester to ensure things work before publicly humiliating themselves.
