Ever since it came to light that the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is only running at 720p the Internet mobs and PlayStation fans have been running riot since their beloved version runs at a crisp 1080p making it easily the superior version… but we’ve been lied to.
In fact it has been revealed that the PlayStation 4 version of the single player mode actually also only runs at 720p making the versions pretty much identical.
Do you feel conned?
Well don’t. I wonder how many people read this far. In fact according to Activision the reason the PS4 single player mode only runs at 720p was due to a configuration error.
“Call of Duty: Ghosts runs natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4. There was a configuration issue in the retail version on single player mode only. This has been addressed with a day one software update. People will be able to download the day one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p.”
So when you get your PS4 and you start the game you will be asked to download an update that will make the game run in 1080p in single player.
Before the riot mobs jump on the reviewers who claimed they loved the 1080p, well the review events and review code didn’t have this configuration issue so they did see it in 1080p.
So yes the PlayStation 4 still has the better resolution out of all 5 consoles when it comes to Call of Duty: Ghosts, now go put those pitch forks to some proper use.
