Chromie Heroes of the Storm (2)

Sheesh, Blizzard really don’t waste time when it comes to Heroes of the Storm. Just recently, they dropped a whole lot of teasers on Facebook, which they later revealed to be the work of not one, but two brand new heroes for the MOBA. I expected to have to wait at least another week for the first one, Chromie, to release. The female gnome slash dragon is eager to enter the Nexus though it seems, because she’s already playable.

She’s not out officially mind you, but she is now available in the Public Test Realm, giving players the opportunity to dabble with her time-bending and dragon spells (and Blizzard the chance to do some last second tweaking) before she makes a proper entrance into the game. Here’s her character spotlight…

Since time immemorial, Azeroth has been guided by the dragonflights. Each granted a sacret task to preserve a fundamental aspect of the world. Chronormu, or Chromie to her friends, may appear to be a friendly, yet distracted gnome, but in truth, she is a bronze dragon, and an ardent defender of time. Now her charge to preserve history has brought her into the conflicts of time and space, known only as the Nexus.

Chromie has a really interesting kit. I think her DPS lacks a little (at least when compared to other spell casters), but I don’t think that’s her primary focus anyway.

What she really seems to be good at, is controlling team fights and/or isolating enemies. Slowing Sands for example, is an ideal spell for disrupting the enemy team. And then there’s Time Trap and Temporal Loop, which are perfect for isolating a target and securing a kill.

I’m keen to see exactly how she fits into the MOBA. What about you? Are you excited to get your hands on the teeny tiny bronze dragon?
