Cliffy B explains the absolute lack of Gears of War 3 at the Spike VGA’s

You’ll remember a few weeks back Epic and Cliff Bleszinski were telling everyone who would listen about the epic Gears of War 3 reveal that was going to take place at the VGA’s.

Million of cog lovers around the world logged on to get a glimpse of Gears 3 and were left broken hearted when Major Nelson explained that there would be no Gears footage that night.

The Gears of War executive producer, Rod Fergusson tweeted on Saturday

“To be clear, the VGA announcement delay comes from Microsoft, not us.”

And now Cliff has told 1up that it was a tactical shift by Microsoft for some reason or another. He doesn’t seem to phased to be honest and I don’t think there is to much we can read into this.

The most popular opinion at the moment is that Gears was dumped due to the huge backing Uncharted 3 received and how awesome it looked. Which makes sense to me but that’s just pure conjecture.

They don’t really compete against each other so it’s not like Gears will suffer if Uncharted is awesome.
