Dark Souls 2 is a fantastic game. It’s insanely difficult, but also incredibly rewarding. PS3 and Xbox 360 players have been reveling in its devious death traps, and now PC gamers can join the party. Unlike the first Dark Souls, it seems that the PC version will surpass the console one.
Here is the Dark Souls 2 PC trailer:
For those of you who don’t like to click the play button, it shows off the beautiful horror of the world with some very impressive CGI visuals. Those who have played the game will recognize some locations. This is followed by a short montage of death and despair, including the giant spiders and swirling vortex. No, it doesn’t show off the improved lighting and texture details that we can expect from the superior processing power of PCs, but it still looks rather beautiful.
Launching end of this week, the PC version means that Dark Souls 2 will finally be accessible to all. Everyone can share in the Hollowing. Just pick your covenant wisely. I wish they’d made new covenants for the PC master race – they seem like the true “Sun Bros”.
With Dark Souls 2 fully released, does this mean that we’ll see a new Dark Souls announcement at E3? Perhaps Dark Souls 3 for new generation consoles, or maybe a Game of the Year edition? Maybe they will rebrand the franchise for the new generation – I’d totally get on board with Darker Souls.
Have you been waiting for the PC version, or are you already hours deep into jamming the console game?
