Dark Souls 2 trailer gives death meaning

I never would have described the Dark Souls franchise as inspirational. It is dark and incredibly frustrating. With death after death, it’s no wonder that so many people rage quit before the end of the game. Yet, there’s a greater reward for those who persevere.

For those who don’t watch videos, this Hollow Lullaby trailer tells us that it isn’t about death – it’s about determination

This is about your will to keep going, not giving up when it feels like all is lost. Gathering all you have in you and overcoming the impossible. This is about your sacrifice for greatness and the desire within you to achieve what they say you can’t. This isn’t about death. This is about what you learn from death. This is about doing what you were meant to do.

How inspiring. I’ve got to say, I like that whole overcoming the impossible section. Dark Souls is so rewarding when you finally kill that demon that’s five times your size and seems completely unbeatable. It’s all about learning from death, growing out of adversity, and going back for more after rage quitting.

I must say, Dark Souls is for such a specific temperament. It’s not a particularly relaxing game to play – it’s not the best way to unwind after a hard day. And yet, it can be so rewarding for those who are willing to suffer through it, improve, and find their way through the numerous brick walls. Grind those souls – it’s worth it in the end.

Now that is an awesome trailer.
And is it just me or does it imply that you’ll get some kind of reward for finishing Dark Souls before playing Dark Souls II?
