Dead Space 2 Demo Drops Just Before Christmas

For some, the end of year holidays as well as Christmas, Hanukkah and the feelings of love and goodwill to all mankind are the things on most peoples minds.

Others like Geoff would rather stick his head in a blender or go on a Tequila diet until its all over. There is however, a third type, the one that just cannot get through December without a little bit of blood, guts, horror and tin cans floating in space. If you are in that third category then you will be very happy to know that Dead Space 2 will be getting a demo on December 21st, 5 whole weeks before it hits shelves.

On a completely unrelated note, Dead Space 2’s executive producer’s name is Steve Papoutsis, which is a Greek name that’s been bothering me for the past couple of months.

As a speaker of the hairy olympic language, I felt it completely necessary to inform you that in Greek papoutsis means shoes. So his name is Steve Shoes, and it’s odd. Now you all know and I can finally sleep at night.

EA had the following to say:

“The demo will allow players to discover the Church of Unitology and help Isaac defeat the Necromorph outbreak in a gruesome, unforgiving battle on The Sprawl,”

“Players will also have access to a variety of new tools that Isaac can use to fight Necromorphs, including the new Javelin gun, updated stasis recharge mechanic and enhanced telekinesis ability.”

“Players will also experience the advanced suit, equipped with jets that will allow Isaac full 3600 control in Zero-G space.”
