Does Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Mess With The Time Space Continuum?

0 second read

[The following email was sent in by a reader who knows way more about the MGS series than I do so instead of interpreting the email here it is in full]

Well yesterday a Jpop music video was posted on Kotaku, featuring the MGS: Peace Walker theme song.

In the video at around 2:30 pictures start flashing of the characters in game and there are a whole bunch of new fresh faces, then the picture with a guy who looks almost exactly like Otacon pops up, to add fuel to the flame, the lady alongside who I believe to be Otacon has a striking resemblance to Olga from MGS2. (see image above)

Why this is significant you may ask?

Well Peace Walker is a direct sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: SnakeEater, and that game was set in the mid 20th century, with Big Boss as the protagonist.

Otacon has a supporting role in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which is set in the 21st century. Which could suggest two timelines in Peace Walker, or even time travel. In an interview sometime ago when asked about MGS Rising Kojima said that the guys making Rising were considering time travel.

Thanks to Reece for the tip

PS: I highly recommend searching for Olga in Google images just make sure you don’t make any reference’s to Metal Gear Solid and the results may not be SFW
