Dracula’s Destiny in Lords of Shadow 2

Here’s the new trailer for Lords of Shadow 2!

Lords of Shadow 2 “acts as a shocking conclusion to the Gabriel story arc. Following the infamous revelation where Gabriel was revealed to be the legendary Dracula at the end of the first game, the new game finds the weakened vampire stranded in modern times, whereupon an old ally proposes a deal that could offer him freedom from his eternal existence…”

I really wish this game was coming to the new consoles, but it isn’t – it will, however  be hitting Xbox 360, PC and PS3 on February 28th. I really feel that the first Lords of Shadow was a severely under-appreciated gem. It took the Castlevania mythos and successfully brought the series in to the 3D realm. Castlevania 64, if you ask me, was rubbish. Still, it’s been a bit of a controversial and divisive title, with some gamers preferring the older Metroidvania-styled games, and other preferring the linear old-school Castlevania games.

Lords of Shadow was like neither, further dividing the fanbase. Where it really excelled though, was in storytelling – and the end of the first game hit me like a brick to the face. I can’t wait to see how it all comes to fruition.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
