I can’t hide it, I love Collector’s Editions. Some are more equal than others, and anything with an impressive figurine becomes far too tempting for me. Of course, it’s not just about fetishizing the physical stuff – you can also get cool things in game. Origin’s details on the Digital Deluxe edition might just make you pre-order.

If you pre-order the Digital Deluxe edition for an extra R100 (making the pre-order R700 for PC) you are promised the ultimate Dragon Age: Inquisition experience. So, what’s in the (digital) box?

  • Skyhold Throne – Every ruler should sit in a place of high honor, but as the Inquisitor you will have the greatest of all, fashioned from an ancient dragon skull.
  • Red Hart Halla – Traverse the perilous, living world atop this great-horned beast.
  • Bog Unicorn – Once belonging to an evil marauder, this unique mount has returned to inspire fear into those who would oppose you.

You’ll also get some as yet unannounced bonus digital content, the Dragon Age: Inquisition digital soundtrack, and the Flames of the Inquisition gear. I think they had me at “dragon skull throne” – that sounds so epic. Of course, Bioware knows that we really want some sort of collectible toy. Imagine a figurine, but it’s sitting on that dragon skull throne! That would certainly make me pre-order. Well, we’ll apparently get details on that soon:

I’m so pleased that we finally have a launch date. This is one of my most anticipated games of the year, and on 7 October I will get to jump back into that world. I don’t really remember most of my choices from the first two games, but I’m sure I’ll be completely immersed in no time.
