Dwarfen artillery total war warhammer

The Dwarves are mean little bastards in Warhammer. Holding grudges forever and filled with spite, they are seriously not the best role models, not that any faction in Warhammer really is. But they do have impressive craftsmen and engineers, and the artillery units are looking particularly impressive.

Here is the latest video showing off the Dwarfen artillery, namely the Grudgethrower catapult, the Organ Gun and the Flame Cannon:

And courtesy of the video’s description, we get this:

One of four playable races in the initial launch of Total War: WARHAMMER, the Dwarfs are gifted engineers exhibiting incredible ingenuity, technical know-how and buckets of design flare. As such, artillery will form the cornerstone of any self-respecting Dwarfen army and its devastating power can more than compensate for any perceived shortcomings of this proud and mighty race.

Heh, they said “shortcomings” when describing the dwarves. See what they did there?

Really though, I’m blown away by the intricate detail on these units. It really feels like the love and attention normally put into Warhammer model creation has been applied to each unit in Total War: Warhammer. It truly is a match made in heaven.

I’m still just waiting for a release date for this. Everyone is assuming that the game will launch sometime in the first half of next year, although it might turn out to be a holiday release. While the gameplay is looking great from what we’ve seen thus far, I’m sure there is a ton of balancing that needs to go into making sure that no one faction is more powerful than another.

I want this game so badly. Strategy games have become a rare breed of game, and they’re one of my favourites (of not my favourite).
