ET the Extra-Terrestrial is coming to LEGO Dimensions

I still need to watch ET

Who would have thought that combining LEGO, popular franchises and a puzzle game formula would have been massively popular huh? SCIENCE, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? LEGO Dimensions has been wonderful news so far for the jaded and absolutely terrible news for the wallet, as TT Games has managed to crack out an absolutely brilliant game in the toys to life genre.

Part of the appeal comes from the various fun packs, physical DLC additions that allow you to populate your collection of LEGO characters with the likes of Bart Simpson, Wonder Woman or Peter Venkman from Ghostbusters. It also allows you to sample a rang of cardboard flavours, because that’s what you’ll be eating for the rest of the month in case you get hooked to buying LEGO. It doesn’t help your bank balance either when certain handsome numpties write stuff like this either:

ET (2)

As the sum of its parts, LEGO Dimensions is something special. It’s witty, it’s fun outside of the box and it boasts enough talent to get you hooked on a gateway drug to acquiring a collection of plastic blocks in the future.

As a platform however, LEGO Dimensions is more than happy to take its time between character releases. Year two of the game already includes a new Harry Potter pack, Gremlins and B.A Baracus from the A-Team foo. And you can add ET the extra-testicular terrestrial, as he’ll be released in November. Here’s a very cute trailer starring him, Supergirl and the Doctor:

Remember, these new figures also include golden toy tags that can unlock Battle Arenas in LEGO Dimensions. In other words: FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! Here’s a quick rundown of which other figures are arriving for the rest of this year, so that I can go play a bit more with my LEGO:
