Ooooh yeeeeaaaah

WRASSLIN’! The sport of kings! When life gives you lemons, you don’t just scrunch your face up in protest if you’re a WWE wrestler, you hit the ring and you settle your hash with a steel chair to the back. AS THE WRASSLIN’ GODS INTENDED! Will WWE 2K19 be any different this year? Probably not judging by what I’ve seen from other 2K games this year that seek to squeeze out some of that sweet sweet extra revenue from its players as if they were a jobber caught in a John Cena’s STFU, but at least it’s impossible for the annual release to be any worse than last year’s WWE 2K18.

Holy heck, what an awful awful game. Still reeling from the massive backlash that erupted over NBA 2K18’s egregious use of microtransactions to nickle and dime players out of every spare penny that they had, it was clear that some hasty work had been done in WWE 2K18 to roll back similar systems. It didn’t help of course, as the game still had a bad habit of charging extra for DLC movesets, buried plenty of legends behind paywalls and made the road to Wrestlemania feel like an extended Hell In A Cell match with those f**king loot boxes that were seemingly everywhere last year.

Sweet Sabu, I hope some lessons have been learnt from that fiasco, because the current roster for WWE 2K19 looks kind of…well awesome. This year has dozens upon dozens of superstars from across RAW, Smackdown LIVE and NXT, as well as a few legends in the mix. Team them with Pre-order bonus, and they can take on the SHIELD!

And this, ladies and gents, is an attempt at misdirection.
