Despite the game’s poor retail performance, I rather enjoyed Remedy’s Xbox 360 exclusive psychological thriller. Sure, it may have been a bit repetitive, but it made up for that with exceptional atmosphere, and some interesting story-telling.

If you, like I am, are still intrigued about Wake’s fate, you’ll be happy to know that his story will be coming to an end – as “The Writer,“ the last DLC for the game will hit virtual shelves on October 12. It purports to finally end Alan Wake’s nightmare, and will cost you a fair 560 MSP.

Trailer after the jump.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
