First look at new Sony light/sound/break-apart/motion sensing controller thingamajig

Images from a patent application from Sony have made their way onto the internet showing off an incredibly odd looking controller device that looks to somehow also involve the PS-Eye.

While a patent doesn’t mean that it is actually going to come out, it is a possibility that Sony is working on something rather different here in an attempt to break into the casual market that the Wii has so easily eaten up. A break-controller has been rumored for ages now and so this may be what all the fuss is about.
