Gears of War 2 Map Codes In South Africa: Chapter 3

Unfortunately we don’t have great news but it’s news at least.

Nick (who is busy sunning himself in Sun City) has just received another response from Epic and Microsoft about this issue.

We are now chatting with Guy Welch from Microsoft themselves as it isn’t an Epic issue really.

Guy had the following to say

“We’re looking into the gold-plated Lancer issue for South Africa and similar regions around the world. We hope to have an update for you shortly.”

So like I said it’s not great but at least we are getting some responses and don’t worry we haven’t forgotten the map code issue either. Nick is doing a great impersonation of a rabid dog for Microsoft so I do honestly expect something good to come out of all of this.

We will let you know as soon as we hear anything.

Yay! Atleast we have gotten somewhere 😀 Hopefully MS realise we actually exist, and one step closer to getting Live.

I thought it was going to be bad news. This isn’t bad news at all 🙂 Shows they at least care.

Um… how exactly are they going to get codes to us after we have bought the game? what use the serial number? Sounds like there will be some logistical problems even if MS agree that we have been screwed over.

and it’s *their* logistical problem. imho if they give out more codes than they would have originally, then that’s their fault for not including them originally.

They just need to act quickly. My response would be to apologise and then make the maps free to download for everyone for 1 week.

I don’t really care much for the golden lancer – I want the flashback map pack.

Mr Welch’s quote ““We’re looking into the gold-plated Lancer issue for South Africa…” makes me believe that they’re not planning on giving us the maps – only the lancer.

I saw that too and pointed it out straight away. I told them that the maps were the most important to us

I feel like such a prat right now. I know about 15 different guys, who all have an xbox 360. All of them have a flashed box, while I sit with an unflashed box. While they keep telling me how silly I am, for not flashing my box, I defend it with comments about my box being legal, and what not. I also point out that I have the potential to own more content than they do. Well here is the tally so far.
They have over 100 different games, while I have 18
They get games before they are ever sold here
Each game costs them less than R20 (I pay R500+)
They had the new dash before me
They all have the maps on gears 2, while I (who paid over R600 for mine) do not.
What an idiot I am, for trying to play it legal, and pay Microsoft for everything I own.
