Call of Duty World at War

The latest sales reports are in and there are some surprises if you start looking into the charts.

First of Fallout 3 has broken through the 2 million barrier worldwide, Fable 2 is sitting on just over 2.5 million and LittleBigPlanet has had a late surge after the holiday season and is now also sitting over 2 million which is truly fantastic to see.

However there is a surprising little nugget in the sales chart and that is that Call of Duty World at War has now outsold Gears of War 2 on the Xbox 360.

Gears 2 has sold an impressive 4,553,629 units while COD WaW on the 360 has sold 4,764,9779 units.

Which just goes to show that I am a terrible predictor of sales and Treyarch are justified in their pre-game statements about how great the game is.

Now just to get my hands on it…

In hardware news the Wii is still top even after having a terrible week in comparison, the 360 outsold the PS3 by a considerable margin and in the handheld stakes the DS is still the dominant console.

Hardware
Wii – 515,612
360 – 219,790
PS3 – 149,435

Handheld
DS – 524,155
PSP – 198,405

For me it did… by far!

GoW2 was just more of the same… not really anything new, just the same old stuff. Don’t get me wrong, its still fun, but fun that we have all had before.

CoD5 was an immense amount of fun, even though we all thought it would suck to go back to WW2. Don’t think there has ever been a WW2 game like it.
