The insurmountable, undeniable power of the Blu-Ray is rearing its head again, as we get word that people who purchase Assassin’s Creed Revelations at launch will be treated t a special gift – but only if they buy it for PlayStation 3.

That gift is none other than the original Assassin’s Creed – a game I’ve been rather vocal in my …lack of enthusiasm…for. It was a terribly overhyped game that under-delivered – promising so much but really only giving 5 mini games set within admittedly well recreated and beautifully rendered cities. Pity about the lack of an actual game. I will say though that the Assassin’s Creed series has progressed in leaps and bounds with each sequel – so it’ll be interesting to load up the first one, just to see how far Ubisoft has come.

I can’t say I’m excited to play through Assassin’s Creed 1 again…but it’s still better than not getting it free, eh 360 gamers?

Here’s the press release.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
