I’ve often thought to myself: “Damn, I’d really just love to kick back and do some online virtual fishing with a load of other people from all over the world. It’d be even better if I could do virtual fishing in an online world that perpetuates gender stereotyping in videogamesâ€.
Luckily, a friend alerted me to Hanbitsoft’s: Grand Mer. The development studio describes the game as “the world’s first online Saltwater Fishing game that invites players to experience the excitement of struggling with and catching enormous fish, some of which can reach over 26 feet in length!†The most mind-blowing trailer awaits you after the jump.
The fishing MMO promises “several unique characters†and a quasi-RPG levelling system for fishing skills. You’ll also be able to customise your rods, lures and boat. Did you hear that? We can customise our rods! And boats! I’m on a boat mutha-f…
Now calm down, I know everyone is overwhelmed by this announcement, but there’s no official release date yet. The developers are saying that Grand Mer is “coming soon†and that it won’t be too long until we can all “Experience the fun and excitement of fishing from the comfort of your homeâ€.
