World War 2. It truly must have been the worst war ever fought. According to my extensive knowledge of butchered history and video games, it was a war that involved the Axis and Allied forces duking it out with cyborg Nazi death machines, killer robot dogs and obligatory Scottish pilots who were clearly too old for this kind of sh**. Hey, my memory of the war may be dodgy, but it still reads better than the History Channel’s Ancient Alien’s in World War Two documentaries. And the war for it all takes a B-movie turn in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood this week. So sit back, relax and check out some gamplay footage!
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood publisher Bethesda and developer Machine Games live-streamed almost an hour of new gameplay footage recently. That footage was of course recorded, and uploaded to ye olde Youtube which is like Twitch, but delyaed. So kind of like sports on SABC then. Grab your popcorn and enjoy:
I loved Wolfenstein last year. The more I think about it, the more I realise that it’s the kind of game we need more of these days. Focused solely on providing the best single-player experience possible, Wolfenstein made me fall in love with the FPS genre all over again. And if The Old Blood is the exact same game, but with a promised B-movie vibe, I’ve got a feeling that I’ll be handing out high marks again.
Really, do yourselves a favour and check out last year’s Wolfenstein. You won’t be disappointed. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood launches digitally on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 5. Expect a proper physical release a week later.
