Jason “Moses” O’Toole to miss the ESL African Championships

Iconic casting duo Jason “Moses” O’Toole and Lauren “Pansy” Scott was originally announced as one of the casting pairs for this weekend’s ESL African Championship. Earlier this week rumours began to surface about Moses missing the tournament due to VISA issues and today those rumours were confirmed by Kwese Gamer via Twitter.

“With great disappointment I have to announce that I will not be attending the ESL Africa Championship at the rAge Expo in Johannesburg.

I was turned down at the boarding desk a few days back from boarding the flight due to not enough blank Visa pages in my passport.

I want to apologize to the CS:GO fans attending the Expo as well as ESL Africa for their hard work in organizing my travel that has gone to waste.

l was equally excited to attend the event and get to experience the CS your region has to offer. I hope that in the nearest future I will find a way to get out there and frag out with all of you.”

The unfortunate news now leaves a small space in the ESL casting lineup, which has yet to be filled by one of our local broadcasters. This is also not the first time an international guest has been invited to the rAge expo and missed the event due to unfortunate circumstances. Everyone will sorely remember Dota 2 superstar Danil “Dendi” Ishutin who was meant to come down to rAge 2013 for a meet and greet but was unable to attend due to an illness. Moses will be missed as he is one of the favoured international CS:GO casters who would have got his first taste of African CS:GO at the year’s biggest gaming event.

In Afrikaans you would say “sy visa het sy Moses toegekom”
