Let your soul burn in this debut video for Guilty Gear Xrd

1 min read

I love fighting games lately. Whether you get your kicks from some good ol’ Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat or the rather superb Injustice: Gods Among Us, the punches on tap are quite varied as of late. And yet, there’s that part of me that has been yearning for a new Guilty Gear game like a stupid whale with an urge to beach itself. Well consider me useless on the sand, because my prayers have been answered. Also, you might need explosives to move my corpse.

Arc Softworks is bringing back one of the purest fighting game franchises after a four year gap according to Polygon, and that’s about all we know. But hey! At least we have a trailer for Guilty Gear Xrd, complete with a catchy guitar riff and some ludicroustastic visuals to match it!

And if you haven’t played Guilty Gear before, then brother, you are missing out. You can pick up one of the numerous iterations of the game on just about any platform, and get yourself a slice of stylish brawling with some of the purest fighting game mechanics around at most gaming places, and for some reason, this list includes the Pick ‘n Pay bargain bin as well.

There’s no release date yet, but hot damn…That Unreal Engine video tease for this game has me excited.
