Delayed

Exclusives help sell specific consoles. Some help more than others – I’m convinced that Bloodborne will be great for PS4 and when the next Halo releases it will be god’s gift to Xbox One owners. There are a few other exclusives in the works, but one has just been delayed out of the Holiday launch window, into 2015.

Ori and the Blind Forest is promising to be a gorgeous and yet difficult experience. Built to be like gaming of old, it won’t just be a pretty face – it’s got some hardcore gaming as well. However, it isn’t quite as ready as everyone thought it would be.

While we’re extremely excited for all of you to get your hands on Ori and the Blind Forest as soon as possible, we made the decision together with our partners at Microsoft Studios that we’ll need just a little more time in order to add a final layer of polish to – what we hope – will be an unforgettable gaming experience.

The game will now be released on Xbox One and PC in early 2015. At least it’s coming to more than just Xbox One, so the PC master race can also enjoy the tear-jerking story and platforming that also might make you cry tears of broken pride. I am keen to see how the story of Ori and the Blind Forest plays out – much like Ubisoft’s Child of Light or Valiant Hearts, it looks like a more indie-esque style game to expand what’s currently on offer for Xbox One fans. Here’s hoping that the delay gives them the time that they need to make it truly fantastic.

I’m sad but also a bit relieved. Really looking forward to this game and now have a little more time to finish Dragon Age Inquisition.

Better that than an unfinished game (as the trend with all “next-gen” ones). If I’m becoming a beta tester, I don’t want to pay.

Meh… When it drops to R4000 I might consider it.

Yeah…wouldn’t say no to one, but won’t exactly be spending cash on one right now either.

Tears? Please! Sometimes our concentrated awesomeness just can’t be contained, the fact that it happens during a so-called emotional moment in a game is pure coincidence.
