Microsoft is “supremely confident'’ of hitting the 5 million mark before 2011

According to Michael Pachter not only have Microsoft confirmed that they will have enough stock to supply customers this holiday season but they are supremely confident of hitting the 5 million mark for Kinect sales before the end of year.

However Pachter didn’t rule out the possibility of their being shortages over Christmas but he expects that could only happen if Microsoft  managed to sell significantly more than 5 million units before 2011, something that he doesn’t feel is altogether impossible.

Our Kinect reviews will be starting out tomorrow and from what I have seen over the last couple of days and the reactions I have been receiving from the casual gamer I also wouldn’t be very surprised if the Kinect sales started increasingly rapidly as the mommy information network kicks into high gear.

Pachter himself makes some of the news happen by prediction alone, but he’s so often wrong on games that he really needs to hire someone else to make the predictions, as well as talking about them.
