I’ve always been too afraid to modify my tech. I’m sure it’s perfectly safe or awesome, but I’m just one of those people who doesn’t touch anything that could void a warrantee. Besides, if I wanted to modify my tech, why would I buy a console? Bungie seems to have the same feeling as they were swinging the ban hammer this week.
Over on the Bungie weekly update, it was explained why some of your friends might have disappeared from the game. The ban hammer was swinging and justice is swift and final. Why were people getting kicked?
We routinely review Banhammer actions to ensure that they are applied accurately and fairly. A review of the bans applied over the last week shows that all of the affected accounts had logged into Destiny on a modified console at some point.
The post goes on to advice people to use the boxes their favorite retailers gave them.
It’s unclear how many people were banned, and interesting to see that it’s anyone who ever played on a modded console. I hope you never tried to jam the game at a friend’s house on their dodgy console, you might also fall victim to the ban hammer.
You know, I have never been banned from a game. With the exception of getting locked out of my battle.net account for silly reasons, I’ve always just played games, behaved like a normal and decent person and lived my life. I know plenty of games have banned people for no apparent reason, but I’ve never even fallen victim to that. Have any of you been banned from games, or bars? What did you do to deserve it?
