Mortal Kombat X has a secret fight that you can unlock

Reptile fight

But don’t get too excited. It’s against Reptile. Still, you’re going to want that trophy/chievo, aren’t you? Yes? Good! Then here’s how you can obtain it.

YouTuber JurassicRabbit came up with the following method to unlock the secret Reptile fight:

It’s easy enough, if you can’t view the video above due to your workplace having performed an IP-Blockality. First, you need to work your way through a Premier Living Tower in the game. Once you get to the sixth fight, you’ll need to finish at least one round with a flawless victory and a Fatality/Brutality. And then voila! You’ll have unlocked the Reptile fight, which features the former green ninja battling it out with his skills turned up to 11. Beyond that, there’s no other major secret. Just Reptile being a worthy opponent.

It’s not the first time that a Mortal Kombat game has had a secret fight or two waiting to be discovered. Mortal Kombat 9 had a secret Noob Saibot fight (teleporting oily bastard), while the original game also featured a secret fight with – you guessed it – Reptile. That particular fight was a nightmare to unlock, and revolved around getting a flawless victory without blocking on the infamous Bridge stage, as well as a Fatality. And he was an utter bastard to beat, as the scaly shinobi happened to have the moves of both Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Still, I kind of dig this reference in Mortal Kombat X to the original Mortal Kombat game. It’s a toasty warm feeling of nostalgia, and not Scorpion’s flames for once.

You must be super fit from all the running, not a day goes by where you don’t run away

Either that or his Shift key is starting to wear out.

Meh. Phone me when they dig up Shao Kahn’s corpse. What I want to know is what the MK1 cabinet means in the “Koming Soon” window

Yeah, that definitely intrigues me. Just wish Living Towers and Faction Wars worked all the time – sometimes Living Towers load up and there is only 1 or none at all… And Faction Wars? Don’t get me started… It’s never available (9 out of 10 times I get an error), so I usually don’t know what the daily challenges are. Other than those minor gripes, it’s a great game – having a lot of fun with it.

But may need new characters to keep my coming back shortly… Running out of current ones to try.

How does that work, sometimes I get “No Towers available at this time”?

Exactly. I’ve gotten that too. But sometimes it goes through it’s whole loading process, opens up the Living Towers screen and… Nothing… The Living Towers screen is up and running, with normal functionality. But no towers to select (I kinda just stared for a few seconds thinking the towers will pop in any second now). Weird…

I played premier tower got to the 6th fight got a double flawless and performed a fatality but did not unlock secret fight. I did have to retry once and also went and selected a new character once to restart match. Is that why i did not unlock match.
