Naruto (4)

Friendship no jutsu! The key theme in the entire Naruto franchise has always been one of forging bonds. Of not being alone, because being ostracised will always result in numerous flashbacks of the exact same gerddamn scene of how much it sucks to not have any friends.

And in a way, that’s an idea that has carried on over to the Ultimate Ninja Storm games. Naruto games have always been bursting at the seams with playable characters, as the series has valued quantity over quality.

Which also explains why just about everybody plays as a Sage Mode variant of Naruto in the multiplayer lobbies. Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 has the third-largest roster to date in the franchise, clocking in at 61 playable characters and 86 variant of those shinobi.

And just for the sake of comparison, here’s a breakdown of the roster sizes from previous Ultimate Ninja Storm games:

Naruto (1)

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm

  • 25 playable characters

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2

  • 42 playable characters

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3

  • 65 playable characters

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations

  • 55 playable characters

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution

  • 68 playable characters

As I said, big rosters. I’m not expecting every character in Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 to have a brand new set of animations, as many of them will most likely be boasting recycled movesets, while the main characters get upgrades here and there. Anyway, here’s the full roster for next year’s game:

That’s a whole lot of ninja. Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is out next year February, and it certainly does look like the prettiest ninja on the block. That may be due to it perfecting the Sexy-no-jutsu.

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
