Enjoying that shiny new PlayStation 4? I certainly am, and that’s because the device launched with some rather damn good games. I’m busy experiencing Killzone Shadow Fall, which plays like the cutscene that Killzone 2 wanted to be. But the future of the PlayStation 4 can’t rest solely on sequels, something that PlayStation president and CEO Andrew House knows all too well.
“In terms of sheer breadth and depth, we are in a better shape in terms of third party support for this console launch than certainly any I’ve ever launched,” House said to MCV about the launch of PS4.
“And I do think that the early consumer is going to buy in if they sense that there is a roadmap of great content that is going to come down the pipe,” House explained, emphasising that bringing out new IP in 2014 was “critically important”.
We are more committed to new IP establishment and delivery than most other platform holders out there.
That 2014 piece of brand spankin’ new intellectual property that Sony is pushing out? The Order 1886, which scratches that Steampunk itch and puts players in ye olde Victorian London, arms them up and sees a horde of monsters get on the wrong end of a rifle.
It’s not the only game on the way though, as there’ll be plenty of debuts from third-party sources. Murdered: Soul Suspect, Destiny, The Division and Watch Dogs are just a few such examples of this content.
All in all though, it looks like 2014 will be a damn good year for games.

Yep , couldn’t agree more. I need more games like TLOU, new fresh ideas and story…I’m getting so tired of seeing the same game all the time

While I look forward to Uncharted 4 I am keen to see what new IP Naughty Dog come out with on the Ps4.

There’s a rumor floating around that they are in fact working on a new Crash Bandicoot.

There is no game at the moment on the ps4 or xbox one that will make me go buy the console now.
