New PS3 model coming soon – Price drop confirmed

51 second read

So I reported a few days ago about the impending PS3 price drop. Well Sony has now officially confirmed the $100 price drop and have also announced that a new model will be hitting our shelves in the coming month.

The new model will have a 80Gb hard drive and… no that’s about it. I have absolutely no idea why they didn’t increase the drive to be bigger than the Elites 120 or at least hold back on the new model unil they had added the new rumbling controllers?

Either way the price drop is fantastic, I still say you should wait until after E3 to buy any console, I don’t think the price drops have even started yet.

When is E3? When will the rumbling controllers be used by Sony?

  • Ruslan

E3 starts on the 9th July I think throughout this week. At least Sony has finally made a good move which hopefully will reflect in the SA market soon!

So where is the European price cut?!?!?!!?!?!

  • Ruslan

Maybe the price cut applies to the nations which will have the 80GB version for sale?

  • Jak

that is just dumb. If they dont include SA then everybody will be so pissed.

  • Ruslan

Recently got info from a local retailer shop and they say those price cuts would most possibly kick in by next year. Those soon-to-be PS3 gamers better save their pennies for 2008 as it seems to be the best year with a good gaming lineup for the PS3 for a change.
