It may not be that time of the week yet to read your dose of anime, but this should tide you over until tomorrow. One Piece and Naruto return to consoles this year. And I’ve got the screenshots to prove it. BELIEVE IT!

First up, One Piece Unlimited World Red. That game will sport a new Battle Coliseum mode lifted from the recent storyline, that throws marines and pirates into the fray as they battle it out to see who’s the best. Developer Ganborian detailed this mode, saying that 20 characters will be playable and include the likes of Fujitora, Ace D. Portgas, Boa Hancock, the entire Straw-Hat crew, Jinbei and more.

That game reaches the US of A on July 8 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. It’ll be out in Europe, on June 27. Here’ are all those screens that I mentioned:

Next up, Naruto. The world’s most unpredictable ninja also has a new game out this year, that hopefully won’t be a shadow clone of every single game released so far in the current generation of consoles. I’m not getting my hopes up on that, believe it no jutsu.

There’ll be the usual glut of combatants available in Naruto Shippudden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, but there’ll also be a few new faces. Such as Naruto’s mom, Kushina Uzumaki. She’ll headline a new story-mode act, dubbed “The Far Reaches of Hope”, that see her team up with Team Minato

Screens for that:

Meh, I am well and truly done caring about Naruto games, the FIFA of annual ninja combat titles.

  1. Have not played a naruto game since storm 2. So I’m far from done. For games like this and dynasty warriors, its good to take them in snall doses and far in between that way enough is added to warrant it.

The last Naruto I played was Rise of a Ninja and it was damn good. The others were nothing but fluff.

And one piece as just released one game after pirate warriors 2 and another game. Now they want to release a unlimited world game. Not to mention the manga as dragged enough already lol. So I think naruto can still grab some extra cash, since op is doing the same.
