New Ultra Beasts and ANOTHER legendary revealed for Pokémon Sun and Moon

2 min read

Stop it Nintendo. STOP. STAHP EVEN. If this generation of Pokémon is going to be remembered for one thing, it may be for the fact that pretty much EVERY Pokémon was revealed through marketing materials, instead of actual exploration. On the one grotesquely massive hand that belongs to PR, I kind of get why Nintendo is doing this.

Pokémon is twenty years old, and its core fanbase has gotten older. They do adult things now, like brush their teeth and fill my Facebook feed with three million baby photos every second. That’s what adults do, I’m pretty certain. Anyway, that fanbase is still important, but so are newer and younger enthusiasts. The marketing for Pokémon Sun and Moon has been focused very much on that younger market, a generation who are used to getting everything at the click of a button.

That kind of instant reveal and hype generation, works in favour of attracting them to the franchise. But dammit, leave a few Pokémon to be discovered still at least. Because I’m pretty certain that only the final boss monster is being kept a mystery as CoroCoro magazine via Serebii revealed a few new critters over the weekend:

SunAnd Moon (1)

SunAnd Moon (2)

According to the translations, the Ultra Beast on the left is UB-05 Gluttony, while the crystal fella in the middle is linked to both cover legendaries Solgaleo and Lunala AND DAMMIT NINTENDO WHAT DID I JUST SAY. Other than confirmation that each Starter pokémon will have unique Z-moves, the CoroCoro magazine was scant on any other details.

Anyway, the wait is almost over! Pokémon Sun and Moon is finally out in a mere four days. Prepare for me to be even more unbearable than usual when I wax lyrical about my Litten starter. I mean, it’s a fire-type kitty, which I’d definitely choose over a cute girl or a laptop.
