Nope. Nope nope nopety nope. I still refuse to believe that Xenoblade Chronicles X is a Wii U game. Sure, Nintendo’s little console has some beastly power inside that can render some beautifully colourful games, but Xenoblade looks like something else entirely. Nintendo premiered a ton of new gameplay footage for the upcoming title, over the weekend. Prepare to be gobsmacked.
Here’s the 24 minute Japanese footage livestream of Xenoblade Chronicles X, which showcased all that strange new alien action and running around like a pinhead:

Xenoblade Chronicles X drops in April 29 in the land of the rising sun, Japan. It’ll be translated and released in the rest of the world later in the year. The successor to Xenoblade Chronicles, XCX has been teased by Nintendo and Monolith since early 2013 as the mysterious “X” game, with a combat system that will be similar in style and scope to the fan-favourite Xenoblade Chronicles .
It looks like a massive game, the kind of plumber-less title that the Wii U needs these days. It’s already promising to be the kind of game that will take hundreds of hours to complete, while having a massive focus on online play and interaction. Also, giant robots and mech suits. Remember, nothing in life is more important than giant robots and mech suits, which is why every single one of my birthdays have been a massive disappointment.
And I’m still rubbing my eyes in disbelief.
