Next Metal Gear Solid coming to the Xbox 360

Yes I have finally moved on and I am no longer spreading that vicious rumour about MGS4 coming to the Xbox 360.

Times change and we have to change with them so I proudly present to you the latest rumour.

MGS5 coming to a Xbox 360 near you…

You see that image above has been released by Konami to tease us about a new Metal Gear game and I have to admit that it instantly makes me think of the Xbox 360. Or more to the point, the PS3 doesn’t enter the picture here.

It’s a viral ad thing so at the moment we don’t know anything but when has that stopped the rumour mill from turning?

Metal gear and Metal gear solid are not the same thing.

Most people believe this to be an upcoming iphone game, possibly based on metal gear acid.

We’ll have to wait and see though.. 🙂

the reason why the MGS4 rumour won’t die is simply because Konami is a 3rd party developer. More platforms = more units sold. If you can write your engine to be runnable on both then there’s really no reason not to go multiplatform, especially when the 2 systems in question are comparable in terms of performance.

(except MGS4 has more cutscenes than game play so the limited capacity of DVD would be an issue)

it won’t die simply because gamers want the game on Xbox 360 and so they continue to spread the rumor.
If Konami wanted the game to be on both platforms they already would have done it

90% (except for 2 bits) of all the MGS4 cutscene are rendered realtime with ingame engine. The space was not used on saving hours of cutscenes btw.
Its always been like this with all MGS games.

Care to elaborate on why that picture makes you think it’s moving to the Xbox?

Simply because the image is using the universal power button symbol… and is green.

What about the “i” in the beginning? That could symbolize something else. (iMac?)

Definitely agree the 360 is being hinted at based on the power button symbol’s presence but I think more is going there.

and one minor flaw the power button on the xbox isnt an upside down i its just a stripe and if we all remembered correctly the PS2 (First generation) also had a green led flashing next to the power button so i pass this as pure coincidence

Another problem is that if that if they were implying it was the Xbox ring, 3/4 of it would be red 😉
