Nickleback Coming to Rock Band. Rejoice?

Hey, remember a few years ago when scraggly haired Nickleback front man Chad Kroeger denounced rhythm games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero? No? "Start rock bands. Set down the Guitar Hero, learn how to play an actual guitar and start a band..” he said, A sentiment I agree with wholeheartedly provided those bands don’t sound anything like Nickleback.

Consider the hypocrisy now that music by Canada’s third finest export – after Justin Bieber and Celine Dion, of course – will be getting 6 of their tracks available in Rock Band via DLC – although really you only need purchase one and change the lyrics when you’re singing.

The Nickleback Pack 01 (oh God, there’s more?) contains the following songs, which can be purchased together , or individually. Or not at all…your choice really.

  • "Burn It to the Ground"
  • "Figured You Out"
  • "Never Again"
  • "Photograph"
  • "Rockstar"
  • "This Afternoon"

Man, I’m so excited! I can’t wait to not buy and play these absolute gems. Think I’m being too harsh or is Nickleback the worse band ever? The only thing worse would be the ungodly amalgamation of Creed and Nickleback into Creedleback, which would signal the end of good music forever.

Nikcleback Pack 01 will be available for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii on June 29.
