It’ll be just over a week until Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be on store shelves around the world – but that doesn’t mean a ton of people aren’t already playing it. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with playing a game ages before anybody else – unless of course you’re pirating it.
And of course; people are. It seems the Xbox 36o version of the game was leaked to the seedy side of the internet this weekend, and as a result, Youtube and livestreams have been flooded with all manner of spoiler-filled video, detailing the game; especially its newly reworked Zombies mode.
Treyarch’s COD multiplayer designer isn’t too chuffed with the the video streams.
"If you are going to live-stream the game early, which I don’t remotely recommend, you could at least be good at it. :P," he said to the world at large via Twitter, following it up with "I’m really glad people are excited for the game. Legit streams coming up later this week and early next. Watch this space."
The funny thing about this is that developers largely blame piracy for their lack of support for the platform – when it’s often the console versions that end up being pirated first.
Anyway, here’s one of those aforementioned videos, thanks to Eurogamer, showing off the new zombies mode. Looks fun. As an aside, Black Ops2 would be the perfect game to hide some new methods for rooting out pirates and their modified Xboxes. Playing this online would be dumb.
