Update: Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 is no longer on the list for European PS Plus people! Instead, the PS Blog has detailed how Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition will take its place. Which also includes Heavy rain so yaaaaaaaaaaay.

Original story below:

The last few months for PlayStation Plus have been good! Just this month, they have gifted subscribers the always enjoyable Borderlands Handsome Collection and the delightfully good retro-tastic Sonic Mania Plus. The good times can’t last forever though. July’s games are rubbish.

That’s just my opinion, mannnnn. There will always be people who appreciate the games doled out every month, but as as somebody who doesn’t really play or appreciate sports or driving games, July’s games are a big ol bust. In July, players will get the very last version of Pro Evolution Soccer to not have a stupid name, PES 2019. This years entry rebranded to eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer, and I want no part of it. PES 2019 is a very good game if you’re into the beautiful game, but not even worth downloading if you aren’t. Here’s what we said of the game:

“Overall, PES 2019 is still a fantastic game. The on-field experience is one of the most authentic, impressive portrayals of football you are ever likely to see. It’s what happens when a team is finally completely comfortable with the engine and system. Every match feels like it offers something different and that adds to the whole experience. The on-field additions certainly make up for the lacklustre menus, the loss of licenses and the lack of innovation, but only just.”

The other game in the July lineup is Horizon Chase Turbo, which – I’m sorry to disappoint – isn’t a Kart racer starring Aloy and pals. Instead, it’s a modern racing game inspired by 16-bit racers of a bygone era – drawing inspiration from games like OutRun. It’s actually quite good stuff, but not the sort of thing you’d consider the monthly PlayStation Plus sub worth it for.

They all suck. Really Sony. Out of the thousands of games you have in your store, those are the ones you choose. Obviously they are the ones that would cost the less to offer as free titles!
